Music to your ears

In Film on 03/18/2010 at 1:17 am

Some very talented artists contributed to the soundtrack of Canine Instinct.

Special thanks to Robert Etoll, the master of movie trailer scoring and renowned film composer whose dynamic musical talents can be heard on projects as diverse as recordings by Reba McEntire and Jennifer Love Hewitt, as well as work for film directors Steven Spielberg and Garry Marshall. I’ve worked with Robert over my many years editing trailers.

Chris Brokaw has performed or recorded with groups like Thurston Moore Band, Codeine, Come, Steve Wynn, and Evan Dando, and now releases records under his own name.  We licensed an instrumental version of “My Idea” from the album “Incredible Love”.   Click HERE to sample some of his other tunes.

Discovered while surfing I-Tunes, Haiku D’Etat are a self-proclaimed Hip-Hop Supergroup consisting of Aceyalone & Micha 9 of the Freestyle Fellowship, and Abstract Tribe Unique leader Abstract Rude.   I took an instant liking to the track “Dogs” (I wonder why?).  Thanks to Decon Records!

Will Tang plays some killer harp on the track  “Sundown” from his album, “Everything Changes”.

A heartfelt thanks also to autoharp maestro Bryan Bowers for performing the Tom Dundee crowd-pleaser “Dog”

Buffalo Niagara Film Festival

CANINE INSTINCT had its World Premiere at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival on Thursday, April 22.  It was a thrill for us to see the film on the big screen and in front of an audience.

We’d like to thank all of those in Buffalo who attended, especially hair stylist Jon Simon, whose shop is in the Elmwood district and who brought several friends – thanks Jon!  Also a pat on the head for his sweet dog Lucy.  We met a lot of really great people in Buffalo and made some good new friends.  If you missed the screening, look for the DVD release (with ten minutes of extra footage) available in a few short weeks.
